Small hydropower

Has been a source of
electricity generation in many European countries already since the beginning of the 20th century.

Nowadays, it contributes to around 8% of electricity production within the renewable energy mix.

Hydropower is one of the most reliable and cost-effective methods to generate electricity. The concept is designed in a way that it can immediately respond to fluctuations in electricity demand meeting both base-load and peak-load demand.

RE-ENERGY has been strongly involved in the realization of 3 mini-Hydroelectric plants in the Italian country. The activities are framed inside EPC contracts LSTK type.
Plants are building in the Calabria Region, in the municipalities of Oppido Mamertina, Palmi and Seminara having a capacity of 270 kW, 470 kW and 290 kW respectively.

All the plants are hydraulic screw type, also called Archimedes’ screw, which transform the water flow into mechanical energy which produces electrical energy to be introduced in the Network.

RE-ENERGY is also an owner plant company having as asset the mini-Hydroelectric plant of Galatro. Galatro Plant has a yearly capacity of 150 kW and is based on Pelton turbine technology.
Project is in the engineering phase and is expected to start with production in the first quarter of 2023
